Wedding PackagesWedding Planner Phuket1. Thai Wedding Ceremony Package   The Thai wedding is a living kaleidoscope of music and dance, reflecting the beauty and grace of Thai culture. A sacred institution that has evolved and thrived for thousands years.The wedding proper begins with the groom, accompanied by the celebrant, leading the colorful "Long Drum Parade" across the garden or beach to where the vows will take place. Before the altar, the groom is joined by the bride. Dressed in a traditional, close-fitting, brightly colored Thai silk outfit she has been hidden nearby. The celebrant then addresses the bride and groom, and guests. To the traditional Thai music, the couple solemnly pronounces their vows and exchange rings.  Invited Monks chant prayers of health, happiness and prosperity for the wedding couples’ marriage. In return, the couples present the monks with alms and food. The bride and groom then kneel together, and a holy string is draped from one persons head to the other, forming a circle and connecting the couple. This symbolizes their spiritual union. Flower garlands are presented and powder is placed on the forehead. They then Wai by clasping their palms together in the traditional prayer-like gesture while one by one the guests pour a conch shell full of sacred water over the couple's hands while saying a blessing for good luck. Gifts of either envelopes containing money, or presents that have been placed in a basket beforehand are now checked by the bride’s mother. Thai Traditions Traditional Ceremony A Thai wedding ceremony will have a few main components that can be added to your wedding ceremony. One of the most common is the Water Blessing Ceremony and a Monk Blessing  Water Blessing Ceremony   Water, blessed by monks at the local temple is put in a decorative bowl. A shell is used to scoop a small amount of water which is poured over the couple palms as they are seated at a decorated table with their hands held over a cushion. The water is usually poured by the groom's Mother and Father, followed by the bride's Mother and Father followed then by the rest of the guests attending the wedding. While they are pouring the water over the Bride and Grooms hands they congratulate the couple and give them their best wishes for the future.Commonly at the water blessing ceremony, the couple is joined by a lei of flowers, placed on the couple’s heads, which is tied together with string. This signifies the joining of the couple. A Traditional Thai Wedding Dance is usually performed with dancers donning traditional Thai dress. This is a wedding blessing dance for the couple and is performed after the wedding vows and certificate is signed.  Monk Blessing Thai wedding commonly starts with a morning chant from monks. The monks chant prayers blessing the bride and groom, who make merit by offering food and other domestic necessities to the monks. This ceremony must be completed in the morning as the Monks will eating all foods presented to them by the bride and groom after the blessing, which must be before mid-day.  2. Western Wedding Ceremony Package  The bride and groom enter the colorfully decorated aisle through the beautiful flower arch, elegantly dressed, the bride carrying her flower bouquet. Wedding guests flank each side of the aisle, viewing the couple’s walk to the altar. At the altar there is a brief, touching ceremony where the celebrant first offers words of welcome to the bride and groom, and guests. After asking the guests if there is anyone present who should think that this marriage should not take place, he then briefly shares a prose of inspiration to the nuptials. The bride and groom then light a small candle each and light the large candle in the centre of the alter. This symbolizes their undying and perpetual love for each other. They then commit themselves to each other with the exchange of vows and presentation of rings. The couple turns and leaves the altar, showered by flowers from friends and family. After the wedding vows, a toast to the newly weds is usually given with champagne and cake cutting ceremony. Wedding photos follow with much excitement around and congratulations to, the bride and groom.
